for the next weeks to come our gallery will be a beautiful stage for the artists RAWS, Skenar 73, El Bocho, Eliot and Ewen Gur to juxtapose their newly painted wall paintings to contemporary art of three generations. We are all very excited to experience the encounter of wall painting, painting, drawing and sculpture. The idea that artists react to existing art and encorporate these works to their new creation is convincing and we are proud of a colourful, enigmatic and powerful exhibition in a most elegant shape. A powerful display of modern art in a most independant and free way shows Rainer Fetting's Desmond with Winegrapes next to an abstract art wall composition by Skenar73, Mia Fonssagrives Solows black sculpture in a force field of black and white images by wall paintings of Ewen Gur and Eliot. on another wall a huge wall painting and a small wall drawing of El Bocho are juxtaposed to his works on canvas and it is exciting to observe the difference between the directness of a wallpaintig and the more three dimensional work on canvas by the artist. At the same time works of two older generations of contemporary artists are getting into direct contact with works by an energetic younger generation of street artists.  Unlike Renaissance times when the works were painted al fresco- colours were applied to the fresh gesso in exaclty the size as the artist could paint while it was fresh-the works are set up with special colours and spray. Looking back to Renaissance times and comparing those wall paintigs with art works today it soon is vivible that the expression is most dramatic when it comes to cope with new ideas in times of change. Looking at Cimabue`s frescoes that were created 700 years ago it still gives an idea of Saint Francesco's revolutionary theses, in 1500 Signorelli decides to reintroduce perspective paintings to describe the drama of his time in the most radical painting of the Last Judegment at the Orivieto Dome . Today El Bocho expresses the desire to start looking at the city in a different way, creating more beauty where ever possible. next to a work from 1981 of the young and rebellious woman Elvira Bach’s the perspective abstraction of RAWS looks totally convincing. Mia Fonssagrives Solow’s perfect sculpture, using contemporary tools from the automobile industry is a different attempt towards perfection than Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel paintings of 9 frescoes with themes of the genesis. I

At our gallery the first wall paintig was done in 1991 by Jean- Michel Albérola who later on became famous for his wall paintings at the Centre Pompidou in France. Since than we often regretted to paint over a wall painting that we enjoyed at the gallery. At the same time a wall painting by El Bocho survives at our old gallery space at Fasanenstraße 72. With this exhibition we gained a lot of new experiences that we are glad to pass onto our collectors whom we would like to encourage to add a wall painting to their collections. Not only will the collection shine in the light of new works from a younger generation of artists, it will open new lines of thinking, will change visual imiaes that we are used to for the time since we own the works. And as these artists are all still very young, this artistic adventure is not going to cost a fortune. You choose an artist to do the creation at your home, he will do a computer draft on a commission of around 800€. If you like the draft, the final execution is going to take a day, the expensise being around 4.000€, from which the expenses for the draft will be reduced.
