Qin Feng says about himself " I have an ink complex". It is a hate-love because actually he wants to work with completely different materials. He wants to create installations as in the 80's of the chinese avant-garde. The young chinese artists considered ink painting as too traditional, obsolete and boring. However the ink keeps sneaking back into Qin Feng's heart.

Qin Feng uses his education in the traditional chinese calligraphy for his works. Additionally he paints nature, life and the universe in a spiritual way together with his experiences on travelling, openness and an expressiv style of painting.

Boisterous long channels of vey fine paper are painted with ink, then washed, single straps are cut out, initials stamped, emble over emblem, paper is put over paper, so that it is possible to acquire a piece which does not deny the trasdition but units with the spirit of the age. Qin Feng's youngest project is "CivilizationLandscapes" - painted channels of paper, folded as Leporello and bounded in leashes. Folded landscapes, thoughts and ideas, which one can carry around under his arm.

Already in 1998 the Raab Galery had displayed works of Qin Feng and we are delighted to see his works and him after six years again.
